Style Entry

Good evening guys,

Ok, I know; I'm completely MIA, and yes, I definitely am going to write more posts. For lent, at least haha.

Anyway, after getting back into this whole, social networking scene, I joined instagram and noticed that trends appear FAST. There are so many cool and interesting people on this app, let alone how professional smartphone pictures can look. I'm still a rookie, but practise makes perfect huh!

So anyway, onto these trends. I noticed that something major is about to take off. Yes, I feel as though I am witnessing the beginning of an internet phenomenon in the fashion industry.

So, as traditional instagram protocol goes, I have adhered to following a couple of fashion inspiration pages, a couple of beauty shenanigans rounded off with that fitspo malarkey. But I've noticed that non of them really interact with their followers; Except One, @styleentry.

Initially, I stumbled (key word) upon @styleentry, by clicking through relentless hashtags and links via random images with no relevance, I.e husky puppies, apple crumble, the Kardashians. We've all been there, hashtagging 'ell. Anyway, after I committed to following a page were I initially presumed it was going to be just like the other 100 thousand style inspiration pages, I noticed that actually, this one really is different.

Seriously, what instagram page do you know that gives away free stuff, legitimately, without getting you to give your bank details or donate an organ of some kind. Now I know you will probably be reading this and thinking, well I get emails saying I've won 10million and does it ever appear!? Or in instagram world, 'like this page for 10 million followers'?! But believe me, just search #styleentry, and you will notice how many people have actually been Entering their Style! Me being one of the groupies.

And you know what @styleentry, I thought I'd take you up on that offer. I'm not one for buying in to the hype, but I thought - well why not. It's all in good faith and a little jest never hurt anybody. And you know what that saying is, "if you don't ask you don't get."

In good faith, I couldn't actually believe it when my shirt arrived from the StyleEntry head offices! From abroad as well. We all how much postage costs, damn you Ebay! What's more impressive is that the amount of people that have ordered their FREE shirt, is unbelievable. Hundreds of people have hash tagged #styleentry wearing these awesome shirts. I literally wear mine all over, it's so cool! And the amount of people that have asked me who Joseph is, and what @styleentry is, is unbelievable.

What's more impressive, is that being based in the UK, we always get left out of these great creative ideas. But this has literally become a world wide craze! I've noticed people from New York to Dubai rocking these cool shirts!

We have all become a #styleentry union! and what's crazy is that the hype hasn't stopped there, there is another FREE giveaway arising. @styleentry have teamed up with Jermaine Dupri & Nu Pop Watches and they have over a thousand to give away. You can never be too optimistic when all you have to do is follow the page! It's that simple, and so so much fun. I managed to grab a shirt, I'm already thinking of which colour that I hope to win!!

So before you continue your instagram click and browse routine every night, make sure that you definitely check out this instagram page @danielle_turn. Haha No, I'm joking, you need to head to #styleentry and actually check out the hype for yourself. Click follow and just wait for the opportunity to pop up on a post for a Nu Pop Watch! (Too many pops?! Well, it's poppin'! Yeah, I said it haha)

How fun is this? Check out the instagram hype and leave a comment for your fantastic freebies!

See you all your Style Entry's over there!!

Thank you for reading,

Bye Bye Baby

Ok, so I have been away for a whilllleeee now, and I know that you all have most likely read/seen so many reviews on the Maybeline Baby Lips, but I just still can't believe the hype.

                                         Maybeline Baby Lips , Boots/Superdrug £2.99

First of all, this packaging screams it all out to me - cheap! This product is not even worth £3 at all! I don't know which "Vogue editors rave about it", but to me - the products packaging is cheap and tacky looking (well for a 21year old female) and it does NOTHING it claims to do, except smell nice.

"It's a New York Fashion Week must have!!" . Ok, when I saw this quote in a top selling monthly mag, teamed with the products (misrepresented) quote claiming that this lip formula  will "moisturise lips for a full 8 hours" , I side tracked the Go Girl Magazine-esque look for the products ability. Boy, was I wrong. There is nothing moisturising about it, it's just an embarrassment to be pulled out out my bag.
There is very LITTLE colour in this product, along with its little nourishing ability making it not a great buy if you're looking for a good nourishing lip balm with a tint.
"Can you collect all five" not at all!! I wouldn't suggest buying any of them if you're looking for a good result lip balm.

So we all know (those of us who live in Siberia- I mean , the UK), that we all need a good lip balm that is going to cure the fight between; Central Heating VS Frosty Windy Weather! Chapped lips are a staple in Winter, it is hard to avoid them. Let me set the scene,

You're walking in the windy frosty weather, hairs blowing all over the show, you're fighting with an umbrella whilst walking slow to avoid that car spraying you with everything that has been accumulating within that pothole. Your lips are dry but you haven't got time to re-re-re-re-re-reapply a balm that claims it will last HOURS, you lick your lips (we all do it!). You get home and sit next to the radiator to warm up. The next thing you know, your lips are chapped and cracked and splitting. (Do not re-lick!)  Instead, this little beauty will be your best friend:

Nivea essential Care lip balm, asda, pharmacies, boots, etc, £1.00

I have been using this for years, and nothing has ever come close to giving the same results. It is enriched with JoJoba oil and Shea butter which helps to lock in moisture to protect from dry lips whilst also nourishing damaged lips. It's a clear formula, which gives a nice gentle glossy sheen to your lips. It feels so creamy on and you can feel it lasting for such a long time. The results are instant. Your lips feel so much better after one application. It is also great to put on underneath your lipstick for a creamier effect. As it is so gentle, I even use it on dry patches of skin for a quick fix.

In all, I have always used Nivea, nothing can compare to the results that this little lip balm gives for the same price. Nivea products are always winners, and their rich formulas work extra well during harsh winter months!!

I know a lot of you will have definitely tried this, and it should be a staple in your bag/pocket! I swear by it, and it will definitely be getting me through the big winter fight!

Have you tried either of these, what do you think?

Bows and Bespoke

Bows & Bespoke! What more can I say. Well a lot really. I am very proud to announce that the ever so talented, Chantal, has successfully created her own company - Bows and Bespoke. This is independently run by my sister, who put her love of bows and accessories together with her creativeness to design something new and beautifully Bespoke.

                                                  Bows & Bespoke by Chantal

The idea begun when she whipped out the trusty sewing maching to create headbands and accessories for her daughter after unsuccessfully being able to find any designs or styles that she liked in shops or online. Before she knew it, after a few vintage headbands, a couple of florally crowns and a pair of elasticated baby pants modelled by baby Blush, the requests from her friends streamed in!

And from there, it has gone from strength to strength. She has created an affordable range of beautifully hand crafted acessories loved from children to the fashion conscious.

                                Bows & Bespoke ,  Belle

Bows & Bespoke Knotted Turban range

                                Bows & Bespoke Halloweeen range

Her range includes items for even the most delicate and precious hair as she has created designs around gentle hair clips and bands based on her own daughters first hair- so mothers can be sure that there will be no snagging on those precious locks!

Bows & Bespoke offers a range of designs and styles, from precious pastel bows to edgy leather turbans.

And for high fashion looks for less, there are a lot of gorgeous prints like these made in to various styles.

                          Bows & Bespoke     Missoni style

                             Bows & Bespoke Pucci style

Or even to more traditional Tartan Bows & Bespoke

There are so many choices to suit everybody! They are tailor made to your head size, shape and bow size. So if you are looking for an over sized beautifully hand stitched cushion bow, simple petite ribbon  to a pair of cosy frilly socks- you will find it all made by Bows&Bespoke.

Cable Knit Cottons , Bows & Bespoke

You can see a LOT more designs and pictures modelled by her daughter, her friends and even her pooch on facebook.com/bowsandbespoke as well as instagram.com/bowsandbespoke .

It is good to support small independent businesses. The entrepreneurship of Bows and Bespoke is hand crafted and sewn in the warmth and comfort of the family living room. You're getting that little bit extra for a little bit less.

What do you think of the rest of the designs?

M I A

I have been extremely MIA on the blogging front, for anybody who even reads this - I'm sorry ! I have been so busy with moving houses, working and the beginning of a new university term. I will definitely be trying to blog more often!

This is just a simple outfit I wore to Uni today... Excuse the quality of my images.

Under Tee - Zara  , thin jumper - Zara , Leggings - Zara  , Belt - Hermes

Leather Sleeve Jacket - Primark £25 , Scarf / Snood - Topshop - £16

Watch - Michael Kors - £199 , Hamsa bracelet £3.00ish & Marc by Marc Jacobs bobble £25.00

Studded slipper shoes - New Look - £15

Along with the trusty Alexander Wang bag . (Which also has it's own separate post ! )

Unfortunately, these pictures aren't the best. I still need to figure out the best place to take some pictures working with the horrendous lighting in my room. I have a little more time to be able to read everybodies blogs again now. So I look forward to reading your latest posts !

Glitterati

Recently, there has been a sweeping trend of glitter nails, I too, have jumped back on the bandwagon (Regardless of glitter being a pain in the a!#* to remove !) I recently found this bargain copper glitter varnish from BodyCare for £1.00 , and decided to create an ombre'y glitter nail ! I hope you like the look . Here is how I did it;

Prep nails, I've added two clear base coats (To make it a little easier when it comes to removing the glitter polish)

Technic nail varnish , £1.00 , Body Care
I then did one full coat using the copper glitter varnish over the full nail.

I then added two coats of the glitter to the tips only, which gives the ombre'd glitter effect.. Unfortunately , the camera doesn't really pick up how lovely the copper looks.

I will probably be wearing this look for a while, my friends and I really like it ! What do you think?

Monochrome Madness

We're constantly seeing the monochrome trend grace the catwalks year in, year out. With it , yet again, being big this coming season, I thought I'd transfer the look to my nails.

I love this look, being simple yet very effective, you can spot these nails yards away !

Natural Collection nail varnish , £1.99, Boots, Nail Tip Whitener and Sugar Mouse (For a top coat)

This is one of my favourite nail varnish trends, I used Sugar Mouse over the top, which takes the harshness of the white away, leaving a subtle pearlescent shine, although the camera hasn't really picked this up.

Natural Collection nail varnish , £1.99, Boots, Nail Tip Whitener and Sugar Mouse (For a top coat)

However, one issue is , if your nail chips, it is awfully obvious.

What do you all think? Would you try this look?

Indian Ocean

Summer is (apparently) here. Unfortunately, I haven't been away on holiday, but it only takes the littlest thing to make my mind wander along a picturesque beach. With the Indian Ocean being one of my ultimate destinations, how could I pass up a nail varnish named after it. So, thanks to Models Own - everytime I look at my nails I become mesmorised in a mermaidy wash of crystalised lagoon blue waters...

Models Own Indian Ocean - £5 , Barry M Pure Turqouise 295 - £3.00

I wasn't that impressed with the Models Own polish by itself, and to give it a little more of a colour instead of a shimmer, I did a base coat of Barry M's 'Pure Turquoise'. I think they both compliment each other perfectly, what do you think?
